So here we go after less than 2 weeks of intensive development the ppa for the new nautilus-elementary 2.30 is out:
ppa:am-monkeyd/nautilus-elementary-ppa

how to install from lucid:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:am-monkeyd/nautilus-elementary-ppa 
sudo apt-get update 
sudo apt-get upgrade

check ppa-purge to remove ppa packages easily.
